| Performance Printing is capable of handling simple tasks such as type corrections, image replacement and text layout all the way through to the most difficult of tasks, including image manipulation, large book imposition and completion of otherwise unfinished design files.
Electronic We operate Mac and PC workstations that are staffed with highly skilled prepress associates. All software is kept up to date in order to avoid any conflict with client files. These include:
All files that are sent direct to plate or film run through our Harlequin RIP, powered by dual DEC Alpha 500 mhz processors. Proofs of the files are generated through the same system showing exactly what the impositioned plates or film will contain. Our HP 750 Digital Imposition Proofs (D.I.P.) also serves as a blueline. The cost savings associated with the avoidance of film generation for proofs and plates can be substantial. We offer Digital Archiving Services to our clients who either anticipate a second printing of a project, or desire a central location in which to keep their important prepress files. Please ask your Account Executive for details about this service. Conventional Even though the printing industry is now predominantly geared toward electronic files, there is still a need for the expertise that only experienced film strippers and proofers can provide. Our conventional prepress associates have over 40 years of time at the table between them. This ensures that clients who prefer to submit existing film, or wish to produce their job with Performance Printing generated media, can be safe in the knowledge that the skill level needed to complete the project is in place. FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE PLEASE USE OUR FTP SERVER! If you are on a suitable internet connection (Cable Modem, DSL, T1, ISDN) this means you don't have to save your files to CD's or Jazz disks. You can send them directly to us through your Internet connection. Simply attach your files to an e-mail and send them to prepress@colorfast.com or you can log in to our FTP server (File Transfer Protocol) using your FTP client software. If you do not have FTP client software, e-mail us and we will supply an FTP client for your use. You can also download the software from www.download.com LOGGING ON TO PERFORMANCE PRINTING'S FTP SERVER 1. Contact your Sales Rep to inform them that you are sending your files electronically, and when we should expect them.
4. At this point all, you have to do is select the file you would like to upload and send. Depending on your connection speed and file size the transmission time will vary. |
